The club was formed in 1984 and played at the Friquet Flower Centre from its induction until the year 2000 when the move to the Petanque Centre at St Andrews took place.  The club is run by a Committee who are elected each year by the members at the AGM in November.  The committee is made up of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Captain Vice Captain, Social Secretary, and two ordinary members.

The Captain runs the playing calendar of Doubles, Triples and Singles, with many one off events and friendly melee's.  Our main club night is Wednesday when most of the competitions are staged.  Monday evenings play has also been started with fewer members and less competitive play, and seen as a good induction into the game of petanque.  Every Saturday afternoon at 2pm there are regular sessions of friendly melee's and probably the best time for newcomers to visit the club and try the sport.

Each year an inter insular is held between ourselves and our neighbouring Island of Jersey, played in each Island alternatively for the Victor Hugo Inter Island Trophy.  The club organises trips away to many different venues including Jersey France UK and Holland where petanque is played with many friends made over the years.  Return visits are also made by these clubs.

By far the biggest event in our calendar is the Guernsey Open Competition which is held usually the second weekend in September. The event has grown steadily over the years and now attracts many top players from around the UK and Europe and of course Jersey.

The club has a very strong social calendar which is  petanque orientated and also includes outings of a more general nature.  The members run the canteen and shop situated on the premises and also do the majority of repairs and upkeep of the premises which are owned by the club.

A uniform is worn for all competitions against visiting teams and consists of a green polo shirt and sweat shirt both having the Club Logo and white trousers or shorts.

The club has recently changed to an LBG Company to ensure that adequate insurance is in place for all members and also for visitors to the club.

The Club membership is £25 per year for full members special terms are available for junior and social members.  In addition to the yearly fees a charge of £2-00 per week is charged for green fees.  This enables any player access to the indoor and outdoor terrains at any time during the week.

If you would like more information on becoming a member you would be welcome to visit the club on a Saturday afternoon or contact a member of the committee (see contacts for details).  CONTACTS
